Love Honey Flash

Lovehoney Flash Vibrator

Lovehoney are my favourite company – and not just a sex toy company. Like, ever. Their customer service is incredible, they have all these incentives including their Oh Points scheme, tester products, frequent competitions and giveaways… They also have their own line of toys, lubricants and other accessories. This vibe is one of their own creations and has been around for a while now. I’ve had it for about a year but kept putting off reviewing it because I really didn’t want to diss something my favourite people in the whole world made. But I have to do this – so please forgive me, Lovehoney.

I really don’t like this toy, to be honest I almost hate it. The whole idea behind it is great; it’s USB rechargeable, discreet, (supposedly) silent, waterproof, controlled by a single button so easy to use and made out of silicone which is a safe material. However, the use of material is what lets it down the most, in my opinion.

As most of you know, the one disadvantage of silicone is the drag it creates when used on skin. It’s uncomfortable, and sometimes verging on painful. I find silicone only feels good when used with a lot of water-based lube which I always use for clit stim anyway – but I find I have to use bucket loads of lube with this to make it even remotely comfortable and reduce the drag. And being silicone, it pretty much absorbs the lube or the lube dries up quickly because it’s water-based. The only silicone I find good for clitoral use is Lelo – and this is nothing like that, it doesn’t even compare.

I guess this can work for people who like to just hold their toys up to their clit for the whole duration of sex or masturbation – I like to move mine around in circles or up and down so I hate the silicone.

I think this toy is essentially made out of 3 parts; The tip is squidgy and flexible, the silver middle is metal and the bottom feels silky smooth, like plastic covered with silicone. The button is located on the bottom part of the toy, and flashes when in charge. Except you can barely see it, because the light is white and so is the button. Excellent choice there, Lovehoney. Not. This means it’s virtually impossible to tell when the toy has fully charged unless you’re in a pitch black room.

In terms of noise – what even…?! It sounds like no other vibrator I’ve ever come across, it’s like pissed off bees that are about to sting your ass off for killing their Queen. Rarely does the sound of a vibrator put me off but the Flash honestly makes me wish I had buried it 6 feet under to never be heard again.

The vibrations sort of numb my clit. I got this toy way before I experienced the power of Tango and even then I thought it was terrible. I wanted this to compare it to Mia, my firm favourite amongst bullets, so that I could have a back up in case anything ever happened to it. Yeah well, it’s definitely not getting used in that case.

Also, there is a noticeable break between the speeds and patterns. The vibrations just stop for a split second when you press the button, but that second is long enough to be noticeable and annoying.

SAM_4921aDon’t let the flexible tip fool you – bending it back too far will probably break it, which is what I almost managed to do to my Flash. Considering the fact I don’t use this often, it hasn’t lasted long. The tip is now only half attached to the rest of the toy, somehow I managed to sort of rip it off. And this didn’t require mega Hulk strength! Unless of course I have a super clit.

I managed to get this for only £15 when it was on Deal of the Day a while ago but to be honest, I’d recommend spending more to get something better that will last longer. At the time of purchase I thought the RRP (£24.99) was great for this type of toy but I was wrong, oh so wrong. I wouldn’t recommend this vibrator to many people, only to those who use one speed or setting only, or those who like to keep their vibrator in place without moving it around. If you really want to buy it, you can find it here.
