Sliquid Organics Natural Lubricating Gel

Sliquid Organics

I’ve never had to be careful when choosing lubricants, because as far as I’m aware I’m not allergic to, and have never had a reaction to anything. Even so, I didn’t want to risk it so I always bought high quality lubes and never had any problems – until now. This is the lube that made my vagina feel like it was on fire (and not in a cool, impressive way).

Sliquid Organics Gel is a water based lube with a thicker consistency than your average lube, which is great for those who don’t like runny lubricants. It is safe to use during sex & with condoms and is compatible with all sex toy materials.

I usually like bright colours when it comes to packaging, but I love the labels used in the whole Sliquid Organics range. They’re just so elegant and classy but simple and minimalistic at the same time. I bought the giant bottle (255ml) because why not – I like thick lubes and this is Sliquid and you can never have too much, right? Right?

Turns out, you can have too much Sliquid, especially when it causes your vagina to itch like crazy and feel like you’re being fingered by the Human Torch from Fantastic Four. At first I thought the issue was my fault because I didn’t warm up properly, but I started noticing a pattern. The burning happened every time I used this lube, no matter which sex toy I chose – I could almost hear my vagina weeping whether I masturbated with a glass or silicone dildo.

I’m not sure why, but I can use this on my clit just fine. It’s actually great for external use because it’s not too runny or sticky, it feels really nice and natural, even though it does dry fairly quickly. It’s when I use it internally that everything burns, so I guess I just have a very fussy vagina.

There is one other issue I have with this lube; it smells horrible. The smell isn’t overwhelming but still noticeable, especially when I hold the bottle up to my nose. I know what you’re thinking, “don’t hold it up to your nose then!” but I just can’t help it. I keep wanting to see if it still smells as bad as it did last time I sniffed it. And yes, yes it does, every single time. I’m starting to think I also have a sensitive nose because Property of Potter reviewed this lube and she found that it had no taste or smell at all. Another blogger, Naughty Reenie, thought it had a slight smell to it, but she found it pleasant – not off-putting like I did.

This is one of the best, highest quality lubes out there and contains no nasty ingredients – no parabens, no glycerine, it’s even supposed to be hypoallergenic so I have no idea why I had such a strong reaction to it.

The ingredients are as follows: Purified water, Plant Cellulose (from Cotton), Aloe Barbadensis, Natural Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Cyamopsis (Guar Conditioners), Extracts of Hibiscus, Flax, Green Tea & Sunflower Seed, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid (Citrus Fruits)

As you can see, most of the ingredients are extracted from plants but which one could possibly cause the reaction? I have no idea, your guess is as good as mine.

It is such a shame that my vagina doesn’t like this lube because I love the consistency of it. I’m very disappointed in it, because the consistency really is the only positive aspect here. It smells horrible, it dries quickly so doesn’t last long, but most importantly it burns and it hurts and I simply can’t use it.

You can find the Sliquid range of lubricants at Lovehoney. Based on my experience with this lube and my other Sliquid lubes I’d personally recommend the Swirl range.
